Nothing looks worse than shooting a great portrait only to find your subject's eyes have the dreaded Red Eye effect. It is disappointing at the least but it can also be infuriating, as often, you can't take the shot again. This may be because the same conditions may not exist if you try to re-shoot the same shot almost immediately or because you only notice the red eye effect later on and the opportunity has passed - like a wedding for example. So why not avoid it in the first place by following this simple guide?

There are many misconceptions associated with eye conditions. For example, many people think that only people who constantly stare at computers all day are at risk for developing dry red eyes. The environment can also be a contributor.

When taking a photograph, red eye is often an annoying and very apparent side effect of flash photography. It makes the subjects of the photograph look frightening and often demonic.

Red watery eyes are usually called as conjunctivitis or pink eye. Conjunctiva is a slender lucid layer with the aim to cover the visible part of eye sclera and inner part of eyelids. As soon as conjunctiva gets inflamed, its tinny blood vessels expand in this manner causing emergence of red or else pink eye.
